Tips on Travelling with Prescription Medication
Taking your regular prescription medication does not have to be halted just because you are travelling and going away. In fact, being at the peak of health is essential during this time so that you can make the most out of your holiday or transact business effectively. Written below are some tips on how to do this endeavour properly.
Begin by packing your prescription drugs using tightly sealed containers. That way, the medicine you are taking will be protected from heat or moisture. Next, you should remember to stow them away in your carry on luggage. Doing so will ensure that you can easily access them when necessary. Aside from this, it will also allow you to continue taking your prescription as scheduled even while you travel.
It is always a good idea to bring extra medication just in case you need it. For example, if you are going to be on the road for three days, you may want to bring up to six days' worth of pills and tablets. Keep the latter in a separate compartment to ensure that you will still have some left if you happen to lose the first batch.
Then, write out a medication schedule and bring this with you in a carry-on bag. Due to the changes in your routine, this will help you remember when to take the right pill or tablet.
Make a list of each type of medication that you are bringing. List down the name, the dosage, and why you are taking it. Lastly, make a list containing the names of your doctor and pharmacist along with their contact information. This is so you will be able to contact them easily when necessary.
